About the Event
If you’re like me, you’ve let go of a lot of routines and joyful experiences in the last several months. Likewise, letting go of social gatherings, travel, and daily interactions can stimulate a great deal of introspection and self inquiry. Without a framework for understanding the feelings that arise in these difficult new conditions, it’s natural to feel lost, scared, and even angry. Yet, for almost two millennia, and likely more, the yoga tradition has offered perspectives on and tools for self knowledge — many of which involved a great deal of self sacrifice and renunciation of what we might call “the good life.” While the circumstances we are all facing have not been chosen by any of us, we can use these circumstances as an opportunity to dive deep into our yoga sādhana. Please send email your questions about yoga and renunciation prior to our August 20th online talk story group. I will facilitate this monthly discussion group, using sacred text, philosophy, and practice to help contextual and understand the concept of yogic renunciation in the modern age.
THIS DISCUSSION WILL BE LIVE ZOOM & RECORDED
