About the Event
"It has already been recognized throughout the world that the practice of yoga makes the mind calm, tranquil and healthy. For an average person, it is often difficult to control the mind. For a Yogi, it is practicable to restrain the mind. Yoga Nidra is a technique of Yoga & Tantra, and is an effective means of controlling and regulating the mind. Knowledge of the truth only comes when you are free of tension."
In Yoga Nidra we create a Sankalpa, (affirmation or life's goal). "Sankalpa is one of the most effective means of training your mind, shaping your mind, personality, and the direction you want to go in...the purpose of sankalpa is not to fulfill desires but instead to create strength in the structure of the mind."
What is Yoga Nidra Yoga nidra means yogic sleep but the person who practices yoga nidra avoids sleep in the whole process. Although you are awake, your awareness is different from the normal state of wakefulness. Your state of consciousness in yoga nidra occupies a stage which is in between the usual state of wakefulness and that of sleep." ~ N.C. Panda
Sacred sound is a nourishing tool to help create a sense of harmony, balance and overall well-being for our mind, body and spirit. Similar to meditation, sound baths can help calm the central nervous system allowing for deep mental and physical relaxation while supporting emotional balance and inner connection.
This event will be a combination of restorative yoga posture, pranayama, yoga nidra and sound bath.
