Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, defines stress as “that which interferes with natures’ intelligence in our body”. Yoga defines that nature’s intelligence as “Prana” or life force.
According to the ancient texts, there are 72,000 thousand “nadis” or pranic pathways in which that life force flows inside the human psychic body. Along these subtle pranic channels that intelligence can become interfered by becoming obstructed, under-stimulated or over-stimulated causing disharmony and dis-ease.
The understandings and exploration of Prana give one practical tools to embody the unifying intelligence, optimize health and give one a greater connection to being alive. In this module we will:
~ Explore the yogic concepts of universal energy/great life force often referred to as “Mahaprana” or “Pranashakti” ~Outline the human blueprint of “Mahaprana” as it is organized into the 5 (pancha) subpranas or prana vayus: udana, apana, prana, vyana, & samana. ~Learn how to participate and power the 5 prana vayus for reduction of stress and optimal living through the modalities of asana, pranayama and meditation. ~Breakdown the pranic alignment of key asanas or postures for greater access to well-being. ~ Learn key mudras to enhance pranic flow and stimulate individual vayus. ~Explore the 5 “koshas” or sheaths that “pranically” or energetically house the human spirit. ~ Uncover the science behind the 3 bandhas and the supreme seal, MahaBandha. ~ Learn the three main channels or pathways, Ida, Pingala and Sushumna nadis. ~Learn different pranayama practices to balance imbalances and to prepare for meditation. ~Learn how to sequence intelligently for students, clients or ourself. THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS, THOSE WHO COMPLETE THE COURSE CAN USE THE 36 HOURS TOWARDS OUR 300/500 RYT CERTIFICATION
A total of eight, 36 hour courses are necessary for certification at the 300/500 level.
