About the Event
The outer limbs or aids to yoga are extremely important to arriving into a place of stillness where one can begin to practice the antar yoga or inner limbs of yoga. Â Most of the Yoga practiced today are addressing one of these limbs, asana. Â While asana is valuable in creating a steady body its of course not the entire picture of this ancient practice.
In our study together we will explore various texts and traditions into this inner practice of yoga. Â In Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga the Inner Limbs are Concentration, Meditation & Absorption, together called Samyama. We will practice methods including asana, breathwork (pranayama), mantra japa, ritual, various dharana practices (concentration), yoga nidra (psychic sleep) Â and meditation.
No experience is necessary. Â This course is open to all levels of students.
